A Truck Driving Signalfan

When you drive down the street and one of these big trucks is in your way again, and you get pissed off and wish that these big trucks wouldn't be on the roads...think about your last trip to ANY store. What did you buy? Food, electronics, car parts...the list goes on and on...If it weren't for that big truck that occasionally gets in your way, the store shelves would be EMPTY!!!

During the summer of 2004, I quit my job as a machinist, got a Class A CDL license and started driving truck for Stevens Transport of Dallas, Texas. I worked for Stevens from October of 2004 until June of 2005. Below are maps of some of the trips I ran while employed by Stevens, and a picture of the truck I drove.

From the summer of 2005 to the summer of 2007 I was employed by another company and worked locally in the Detroit, MI and Windsor, ON, Canada area. I had a regular route that I normally ran twice a day. The map below of the Detroit and Windsor areas show the general route that I followed. Most of the numbers on the maps are just markers so that the program I used to generate the map would follow the roads I took.

There were times that the plant that I serviced was down and then I had to do other runs; whatever the company had available. Below is a map of the general areas that I have traveled to while doing work other than the route pictured above. I have gone as far west as Portage, IN. As far east as Brampton, ON, as far north in Michigan as Flint and as far south as Holmesville, OH.

Below is a picture of the type of truck I drive most often with the job I had from 2005 to 2007.

In August of 2007, the company that I was working for above, went out of business. I worked as a driver for about 6 months for a box company, delivering product for that company to various customers around the metro Detroit area. After that I worked  for another company as a fork lift driver in their terminal, loading and unloading trucks all day. I was there for a little over 2 years and was let go due to the company wanting part time workers who would not be eligible for benefits. Now I work for another company delivering parts to the GM Fort Wayne Assembly plant in Indiana. Here is the route that I drive on a daily basis.
