Here are a couple odd items that really don't fit anywhere else.

Rockwell 1 hour parking meter
This parking meter was nicely redone by its previous owner. It works well, except that the EXPIRED flag does not completely disappear when a nickel is inserted. 5 cents gets 30 minutes. If another 5 cents is inserted then the EXPIRED flag does go all the way down as it is supposed to.
UPDATE: The parking meter was sold on eBay in 2012.

These "bar"
traffic lights are fairly easy to find on ebay. I can remember seeing
them in party stores as a kid and not having enough pennies to buy one
then, so I had to get one once I saw them on ebay. This one doesn't sit
on a bar, it sits on my desk. It doesn't change on its own sitting on my
desk so I had to animate it for its appearance on the web. |

The signal to the right was
made by a friend of mine who is known as Bear on the net. He makes these
out of toy signals that are found on ebay and alters them by adding
realistic looking visors and a timing circuit so the light functions as
a true traffic signal. This realistic looking signal has replaced the
"bar" signal on my desk. |

What in the world is this???
It looks like a railroad crossing signal. Well, it is...sort of. I have seen real railroad signals on ebay and they are just too darn big! I wanted to have something that resembled a railroad signal so I made this signal with two 12-inch sections from a traffic light. The cross buck sign is the only thing on this signal that is an authentic part of a real railroad signal. This thing still takes up a lot of room even if it isn't a real one! UPDATE...This railroad signal imitation never looked real enough to me, so I took it apart, auctioned off the
cross buck
sign on ebay and purchased another 12 inch signal section to add to the two I used on the railroad signal, which made the 12 inch aluminum Eagle signal that simulates Michigan LEFT turn signals on the
12 inch single face signals page.

Here is a simple Cross Walk sign that came from somewhere in Ohio. Nothing real exciting here. You turn it on, it lights up, you turn it off, it goes dark.
This item was sold in February 2006 and is no longer a part of The Traffic
Signal Museum.
